American Music Awards Performance: Jonas Brothers

Jonas BrothersWhat They Sang: I have no idea. SOS – I think

What They Wore: Random meterosexual wear from Walmart. Mustard colors, scarves, white suits, and the like.

Performance Value: Who are these guys? Apparently I don’t watch the Disney Channel enough or something. Jordin Sparks led them out and said they were teen idols and they brought out some little teenagers to dance around them, but you seriously have to be kidding me. First, one of the little dork’s looks like Sanjaya from American Idol. Next, you can’t understand anything the lead nerd is singing. There is this random screaming (from the band, not the 12 year old bitches they brought in). It sucked. Holy Crap it sucked like majorly. It wins the “this sucked” award of the night.

Star Value (1 = Worst, 5= Best): Can I give them a 0? Well, I guess I just did, didn’t I?

Ashtyn is definitely the casual gamer in the family. A game fan since she owned an Atari, Ashtyn can remember when her brother rigged the television so he wouldn’t lose his Super Mario Bros. game. That is, until the power went out! A fan of all things Mario, Ashtyn is a Nintendo loyalist. She digs playing Mario-style RPG games, watching others play violent shooters (because she sucks at them), and playing casual PC games (like Wedding Dash and Cake Mania). As of now, she is into the Wii and Nintendo DS, though she’s certain the games for PS3 and Xbox 360 are more appealing.

WTF?
November 19, 2007 1:37 pm

Wow, you couldn’t be more wrong on this one. If you are going to criticize someone, you ought to at least know a little something about them. They’ve been around for two years (before joining Disney) and have been working their asses off at “making it big”. Their album just went gold. They are only 15,18 and 20 and have more talent in their left nut than you or any of their other critics will ever have. They’ve covered a few songs from Busted (you probably don’t know who they are either-do some research), but otherwise write their own songs, play own instruments, etc. The two younger ones performed on Broadway and they have all done commercials. You’re bagging on their clothes? Are you kidding me? More guys should dress like they do. They are some of the genuinely nicest guys in the business and do free shows and meet & greets so their fans who couldn’t get Miley tickets can see them. They drew over 20,000 to the Texas State Fair-look it up. I’ve seen them live and they are awesome, and I am definitely not 12 years old. I just hate to see this nasty review of them-it’s really not fair coming from someone who doesn’t know shit about them. I’m sure none of this impresses you, but it makes me feel better to let you know you don’t know what you are talking about.

These boys are not the best singers in the world, but often they do hit the notes and they are entertaining.
In my opinion Miley is selling out her concerts because of the Jonas Brothers. They are the draw…they don’t get the recognition that they should for the sell out concerts.
By the way was sad to see Joe fall, but he did recover quickly. The way the “glass” wall prop was set up was really a set up for a fall with the big gap at their feet for the glass to drop into. Kevin almost fell too. He caught his heel on the opening. My 15 year old who is NOT a fan said “that is what rehearsals are for, Mom” I guess she does have a point. But I say boo to the prop builders.

okay so first of all the jonas brothers rock and they deff did not “suck” you are just jealous because you can’t sing like nicky j can and they are pretty darn amazing. also i bet you are secretly in love with them but you won’t admit it because you’ve just heard of them and are mad at yourself because you didnt know about them before.

I have over 13 years of vocal experience and training with most of that training in classical/opera and Broadway styles of music. I also have college training in music theory and voice.

#1 - They sounded absolutely HORRIBLE last night. I don’t care how old they are. I opened Cedar Point amusement park for hundreds of thousands of people with my singing one year, and I made sure you could understand every word I sang. I also made sure I sounded good when I sang. At the time, I was only 19 or 20 years old. They need to learn to enunciate.

#2 - Tiffany did free shows, too and we all saw what happened to her.

#3 - Their clothes suck. I’m a guy and I wouldn’t dress like that. If that is how teenagers dress these days then I’m happy to say I’m old.

#4 - Miley isn’t that great of a singer either. She is mediocre and the fact that parents are so willing to do anything (stupid or not) to get their spoiled little princess’ tickets to her concert is ridiculous. She isn’t worth it and neither are the Jonas Brothers.

I wouldn’t let my kids go to their concert. It’s a waste of money. They can stay home and listen to good groups like the Beatles and the Doors. You know, back in the day, when people actually had to sing and sound good.

#5 - I hope this is just another “New Kids” fad. If it is, they won’t last more than a few years. Unfortunately, since they are the “Jonas brothers” I think we have another “Hanson” on our hands. They’ll just keep trying to make albums, and fail.

They struggled and worked their “rears” off for two years you say? Wow…most artists struggle for years upon years. It must be rough for them considering they aren’t any good to begin with and it’s been a hard two years, working their butts off and all to get where they are. Hopefully Disney will can them, but the children of today have such horrible taste they’ll probably keep them around.

It’s sad….gone are the days of Frank Sinatra….He’s a real singer and he had real talent. It’s kind of like actors of today being mediocre compared to Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed, Vivien Leigh, and all the actors of yesteryear. Entertainment value has gone way down and soon I hope the public will see the err of their ways. Otherwise, the decline of Broadway (which has already happened - Paris Hilton could get a gig on Broadway for the right price), the movies, and music will continue until anyone, no matter how bad they are can get a job in the industry.

November 19, 2007 3:22 pm

I guess it’s all in the “ear” of the beholder. I was never a fan of the boy bands (N’Sync, etc.) but in my opinion, these guys seem to have something. They do not suck. Hanson was awesome and they are extremely talented! You can’t put JoBros and Hanson in the same category as the other boy bands. They are just not the same. The New Kids and N’Sync never wrote their own songs or played instruments. When I said they had been at it for 2 years, that actually was incorrect. Nick was on Broadway when he was really young, like 8 or 9 and put out a christian solo album a few years ago. Have you heard any other of their performances or songs? You seemed to have based your opinion on one performance that was botched from the start when Joe fell. As a fan, I just felt bad for them-this was their first real national exposure and that happened, and I knew they were going to be raked over the coals for it. These guys are just doing their thing and even they are surprised at their success. In their more intimate shows they don’t wear the nice clothes-just jeans and tshirts and they really do put on a good show. They have thousands of fans, many of whom are not just teen girls, so they must be doing something right. How can you expect the musical taste of 50 years ago to be the same today? Really? Don’t you think Frank Sinatra and Elvis had their critics and haters back then, and only now can we look back and see their mark in the entertainment world? Personally, I’ve never liked the Beatles and still don’t quite get the appeal, but I will keep my nasty comments to myself which I guess I wish you had done here. Just my opinion, and everyone has an opinion, don’t they??

IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU!!!
THe Jonas Brothers are amazing. Excuese them for trying to be amazing, wait not tring, SUCEEDING!
No one cares if you can sing, that doesnt know you know who else can too!

November 19, 2007 9:22 pm

Yeah…I’ve heard some of their stuff. Kids of the Future…a blatant knock off of Kids of America. I wasn’t in love with the song the first time around. They really write their own music…except for the part about stealing part of an entire OTHER song and updating it to an even stupider version.

If they aren’t ready to play with the big boys then they shouldn’t be up on that stage. Every other performer, minus Avril, sounded fabulous and the Jonas Brothers sounded second rate next to them. It seemed like they were a part of a totally different show…for acne ridden teens that they wanted to fall at their feet and swoon.

A lot of people can play their own instruments. Some just don’t sound as good as others.

As for the Beatles…let’s see. They were an all male band…who played their own instruments, and they actually had the ability to sing. The only people who seemed to hate them were religious zealots and the KKK. It was that whole “we’re bigger than God” comment John said reflectively….which was most likely true.

To deny John Lennon was not a brilliant songwriter and musician is a great injustice. Sure, he was kind of weird as a person and the whole Yoko thing just didn’t really work or help his career, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t good. Even today, nearly everyone can name at least one Beatles song. They’re just that famous.

You just have your panties in a bunch because you are a wannabe teenie bopper. It’s okay. A lot of people want to stay cool and hip to the times so they like whatever drivel happens to be popular and youthful whether it is good or not. It doesn’t make you cool and it doesn’t make you hip.

I actually kind of pity you because you like such a sucky band. I feel bad that you have no taste. I hope you aren’t tone deaf because seriously, I can’t imagine how you could like the Jonas Brothers otherwise.

Oh yeah and any song that has the word Mmmmbop in it…sucks. Sure Hanson can play their instruments, but that is about it.

November 20, 2007 11:41 am

I just have respect for these guys that they are just doing what they love and really are nice, decent young men. They didn’t deserve your rude, hateful personal attack. Their performance wasn’t 100% on the AMAs - it was their first national performance and they were nervous as hell but they pulled it off and had several artists after the show give them kudos (Beyonce, Akon, Slash. Celine Dion asked to meet them before the show-this is from their myspace). Anyway, compared to the shit that is out there now for kids to listen to, they are refreshing and good role models. I don’t like every single one of their songs, which can be said for any artist. But there’s no explicit lyrics or degradation of women, etc. Kids today (especially girls) are in dire need of decent, clean music. Of course their songs are going to be pop considering their ages and their target audience, but their newest recording, Take A Breath, already shows some maturity. What makes you the judge of what the youth of America should be listening to? Times have changed, like it or not, and no teenager is going to listen to the likes of Sinatra - as great as it was, it’s not 1955 anymore. Who knows if they will be around long, but for right now they offer good, clean, fun music for the kids. I think my main rant here is that in this web-crazed society we live in, anyone can write anything about someone and have it broadcast to the world. Too bad we can’t go back to the way it was (Sinatra era) when people had a little more respect for others. I guess in a perfect world we would only say nice things about others - sure, that’s naive of me, but it really is too bad. I’m done with this discussion. I do have some more important things to do than discuss this. I NEVER write on blogs, but this one struck a nerve because I looked into what the Jo Bros are about and found myself intrigued by their upbringing and the musical family they were raised in. Don’t feel sorry for me-I’m fine with my taste in music which I feel is quite varied (BeeGees, Aerosmith, GreenDay, Kenny Chesney, Big&Rich, Michael Buble….) I mean, it’s all subjective anyway and your opinion is no more important than mine. So we will just have to agree to disagree. I’m going to go get my panties out of that bunch and go listen to some Jonas Brothers!

The difference is, you were looking up the Jonas Brothers and I wouldn’t do that. I know kids today who listen to Sinatra. I know kids who listen to the Beatles. I know kids who think the currently untalented, pop artists like Britney, Avril, and Paris Hilton (what…she did sing Stars are Blind -l-) all suck.

The difference between the Beatles and the Jonas brothers is that five years from now, people are going to be embarrassed they liked them. They aren’t going to have a Cirque du Soleil show about them or fans 40 or 50 years later still screaming for tickets.

You seem to have me confused with Ashtyn, who wrote this article.

First off, I’m a guy who is heterosexual. I’m definitely not in love with any young, little punks.

Second, who would WANT to sing like these kids? They are not good. They sound like they’re whining if you can even hear them at all over their instruments (which you really couldn’t at the AMAs except for the occasional screech and count of 1, 2, 3).

Third, I have heard of the Jonas brothers before as I’d seen them when my son was watching “The Suite Life” on the Disney Channel. After their performance of “Kids of the Future” he turned to me and said…wow these guys really suck. I didn’t have to say a word.

As for Ashtyn (the author of this post), she’s my real time life partner. I can assure you she’s not in love with anyone who is either still in puberty or just got out of it. She really thinks they are awful, too. Since you apparently have no taste, you just don’t get it.

How old is your son? Did you at least tell him to watch his mouth when he said that? Or, perhaps you just sent him to his room to listen to the Doors and get high? Think about it, what were you doing when you were listening to them? I am no teenager and I definatley don’t want my “spoiled little princess” to follow that influence. Good luck with that!

I am a fan of the jonas brothers who are amzing but i just wanna say if u like them u like them if u dont u dont we shouldnt be fighting about what kids today day should be listening to and what they shouldnt or compare the Jonas Brothers to some great bands like the beatles. they are ledgendary and everyone knows it so that is a little unfair to compaer them to the beatles. i know they are not the best band but i love them and im 40 years ill still be a fan and ill still be proud to be thier fan. i think people should actually listen to thier music because some people might just think this song sucks because they are the jonas borthers but i was not a persome who would like evr listen to thier music (i was more rock or punk rock like green day) and when i gave them a chance i loved them. so please take the time to really listen to thier music and dont just say it sucks because its the jonas brothers. and they were not always on disney so dont be like oh its just another disney band. oh and as for the song kids of futuer they rewrote kids of america to put it on the meet the robinsons soundtrack and movie

O.k. you could be more wrong about them, the Jonas Brothers are an amazing band the songs that they write are incredible.Seriously who do you think that you are saying all of this about them? I doubt any of you haters could do anything better. Plus if you can’t hear them, consider getting some hearing aids? Or maybe you couldn’t hear them because of all of their fans. Who knows?
The Jonas Brothers have a lot of talent, and at least they can actually sing, unlike most people these days that lip sink. Honestly, if you have nothing nice to say about someone don’t say anything at all. Have some respect for people, you wouldn’t want someone going around bashing you. So i think all you haters should just SHUT UP.

ok i will admit that the jonas brothers may not be considered supreme musical talents but this review was a tad bit harsh. They’re a boy band, their career is about entertaining and singing music that the public is going to buy. They never said they were the Beatles or Frank Sinatra. I am involved in classical voice training and take part in other musical study, but i am aslo a teenage girl. I recognize that a lot of today’s artists have mediocre (and in some cases, nonexistent) musical talent, but i also enjoy the fun pop music produced by bands like the Jonas Brothers. I would also like to mention that I generally despise Disney-made stars (Hilary Duff, Hannah Montana, Ashley Tisdale, etc.) The Jonas Brothers’ music may not be remebered and revered like some of the musicians mentioned in previous comments, but the brothers provide their fans with fun upbeat music that relates to our lives. Of course most people out of high school aren’t going to enjoy their music, they’re singing about crushing on your best friend and breaking up with their girlfirends. They should also be given some credit for setting a good example. Most of the other music popular today can’t finish a verse without swearing or mentioning drugs, drinking, or sex. The Jonas Brothers keep their lyrics, AND images clean. All the brothers wear purity rings and they have never been involved in the young hollywood scandals, which have become so common. The bottom line is, I think it would be nice of you to cut them some slack. Of course everyone is intitled to their own opinions, and it is understandable that some people may not like their music, but their is no need to be this mean and degrading in a review. I actually find in rather humorous that someone would fet that worked up over one performance. The harsh words and rude remarks were definetly not necessary in this review. No one who puts them self on stage in front of millions deserves to be called a little nerd especially by someone whom i am presuming to be an adult.

I would also like to add that in five years i will NOT be “embarassed” that i liked the jonas brothers. I may not be attending a Jonas Brothers Cirque Di Soleil, but i will not regret listening to their music. Every teenage girl needs a little boy band music in her iTunes library. My mom reminices about her teenage obsession with the Monkees, and my 20 year old cousins can still remeber the Hanson concert. They’re not embarassed, boy bands are just a part of American music culture. If boy band music is SO irritating to some of you, then i suggest you plug in your Pavarotti and tune out the music you so despise.

I think that they are bad. There music is not the best of work but they do seem like an ok bunch. If you saw their performance you would see that a.) there was a fall by joe in the beginning b.) kevins hair looks like either it was a wig from annie, he copied nick, or an animal ate his head and c.) their voices cracked at the end. And i really hated how they made girls run up to them. to me it looks really show-off like.

November 24, 2007 2:22 am

#1 - This a celebrity gossip and entertainment blog. This type of blog is expected to have both criticism and praise for celebrities, depending on what the author of the post thinks.

#2 - This post was not harsh. Just because someone says they don’t like a band doesn’t mean they are being harsh. Little nerd is hardly a “slap in the face”. I’m sure if the Jonas Brothers read this they’ll be out getting their weapon of choice to commit suicide (that’s sarcasm for those of you who don’t get it).

#3 - They make themselves accessible to the public then they open themselves up to criticism. This post was in response to their performance at the AMAs. It did suck and you couldn’t understand them because a. they chose not to enunciate b. their mics seemed to be too low c. their instruments were overpowering their voices. Overall, the performance was BAD.

This post critiques THAT performance. That performance got a zero and that’s what this entire post is about.

Frankly, I saw them perform at Macy’s parade this year (and dreaded it once I heard they would be performing). They performed the same song (SOS) and they had the same problems, specifically their instruments overpowered their voices. That’s sad for supposed “pros” at performing. I believe they were lip synching (I believe all the performers did) and it still sounded bad. That’s just my two cents.

I personally LOVED their performance. Nick is the one you can’t understand, but your not supposed to be able to understand it, it’s the way the song is supposed to be. I own the cd and I’m not a big fan of Kids Of The Future either, it was a horrible remake but it was specifically made for the movie Meet The Robinsons. Listen closely and to what they are saying and it’s all stuff tying the song to the movie. Sure they did remake other songs but they also write their own as others have mentioned before. All the songs that they write(not remake) are about their lives and experiences. Plus it’s unfair to compare them to The Beatles, Frank Sinatra and all those other people because they all have different styles. There is a lot of truth to what ML said, I’m gonna go insane if I here another stupid song about strippers! The Jonas Brothers are good role models in a time where profanity rules the airwaves. I’m not saying you shouldn’t criticize them, far from it, but their is a difference between constructive criticism and just critisizing to be mean and hurtful. Calling them nerds and dorks is childish. If liking the Jonas Brothers means I’m a dork, then I’ll wear that title with pride.

Dominick-Everyone lip syncs at the parade, it’s nothing new.

Both sides, supportive and against the Jonas Brothers, bring up good points. I myself am a crazed Jonas Brothers fan, but I do agree with what some of you are saying. Their instruments do overpower their voices in some of their performances and their clothes are not always what’s in style but that is almost part of what makes them so great, they’re real and they don’t lip sync, although I do think they did lip-sync at the Macy’s Day parade but it was said that all of the performers did. And in reply to the comments about how they steal other artists music and try to make it their own, they have TWO songs on their album like that, just two. And if I’m not mistaken, the Jonas Brothers are certainly NOT the first and definitely will not be the last to re-do “Kids of America.” That song has probably been re-written and re-sung more times than any of us can count, why are you not saying that about the other bands and singers who re-did it (Kim Wilde, Catch 22, Aaron Carter, etc)? Listen to the other songs on their album, you can’t judge a band on 2 of their songs. Listen to the entire album, it’s upbeat and leaves you in a good mood. And the things they write about are phenomenal, and like it was mentioned earlier, they write them all themselves. I think that they are incredible and I look forward to the next time I listen to their CD.

I absolutely understand that this is a celebrity/gossip blog and all of the article written was ONE person’s opinion, but the Jonas Brothers do not suck as you say they do. They way you backup your opinion is really faulty. I agree with the performance not being so hot at the AMA’s. The screaming girls coming down was way retarded and totally uncalled for. Joe’s outfit was quite horrible; I felt like I was waiting for him to walk on to some ocean cruise liner or something. Plus his hair was totally fried and atrocious. And poor Joe had to withstand all this CRAPPY critcism because he fell. Did you hold them up to such high standards that everything had to be POSITIVELY PERFECT?? It sure seems like it. I don’t know if you’ve realized, but they are humans JUST LIKE YOU and are totally new to the whole performing nationally thing, as opposed to the “veterans” at the awards show. I’d like to point out that Kids of the Future was NOT a knock off; it was written for the move Meet the Robinsons. Also it DOES take talent to write a song worth recording and to play your own instruments. Yeah, sure MANY people can play instruments, but can I point out that not many TEACH themselves in entirely. SOS is NOT their best song that’s for sure and they play that song everywhere because that is their single. Also, the Jonas Brothers are in their early stages of fame and still maturing in their music. The two most recent songs they’ve written already show their growth. You wouldn’t know that though because you’ve just dubbed them as a “sucky” boyband/Disneyband and haven’t taken a chance to look at them in ENTIRETY. I’m not saying you should, but if you’re going to trash them the way you have, I’d do a little more background check. They aren’t the greatest and may not be around forever, but it’s not just their music that makes them so great. They are such great role models out in hollywood as opposed to those walking disasters like Spears. They are clean and wholesome, which is something this world nowadays is DEFINITELY LACKING. Oh, and their style may be a little eccentric or ecletic, but at least its not a bunch of “bling bling” and pants sagging down to their knees. Lastly, I’d like to say that sure you can’t compare them to people like Frank Sinatra or the Beatles, but they still are something special. Those artists will be remembered for a long time. OH and not all kids have bad taste in music. That is a very pathetic statement and quite immature also. Certain tastes are all SUBJECTIVE, but this is my opinion.

can i just say if the jonas brothers where so crap why would they be asked to perofrm on the american music awards! they dont just pick anyone…

Im from england and i think that theyre absolutly amazing!
Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montanna/Miley Cyrus are americas biggest teen sensations at the moment…obviously your not a teen!

I know its your opinion on the Jonas Brothers and that its your job to give a review but you dont even know who they are for you to give a comment review properly your just going by what youve seen…their fans are fans not because of one off performance but for everything theyve done…everything their doing…and everything there going to do!

Can u honestly name another 15 year old boy who can write his own lyrics and music despite having type 1 diabetes?

Can u name another band of brothers who are curretnly performing at a sold out concert with Hannah Montanna in over 30 states?

They have so many fans its unbelievable and i think your review is actually insulting towards their fans…

anybody else agree?

Wow, you probably have never even heard any of their other music so before you give them a 0 maybe you should because the jonas brothers are AMAZING and have some actual talent and write good songs. Seriously, it’s so annoying when people try to hate on them just because they are younger. They are a greatly successful band and just because they got their fame from Disney Channel does not make them “dorks” or “nerds”.

The Jonas Brothers are GREATT!
December 2, 2007 12:28 am

Wow, I really love the Jonas Brothers. They are awesome Christian based, APPROPRIATE, good looking guys. They are inspirational and easy to relate to! This being their first national show, I think they did great, aside from the mishap in the beginning. They are such a good influence on teens today, we need to be encouraging bands like them! Listen to anyone else these days, and you wonder why our world is like this? The Jonas Brothers are the real deal, and we need to respect that. As for their clothing, I think its awesome how they show their personality through their clothes. Very original and funky. I personally think its awesome! Sorry for you all who think that not wearing Hollister surf beach boy type is abnormal. I love these boys’ style! The JB’s are amazingly talented, and will succeed in everything they do. I’ll be with them all the way!

“I just have respect for these guys that they are just doing what they love and really are nice, decent young men. They didn’t deserve your rude, hateful personal attack.” HA!!!! I personally ENJOYED this review and I think it’s true. The do wear weird clothes, and the do make crappy music. “Oh! I am obbseesed with the Jonas Brothers!!! I think that somehow I am going to marry Nick/Joe/Kevin!!!! OMG! How could you diss them like this?!?!!?!?!?! How mean!” (I made this up, I don’t feel this way) People just get over it! So ONE person didnt like their preformance-I BET THERE ARE MORE! Calm down and just accept that some people just dont like the J.B.

the jonas brothers rock!!!!!!!! but I did feel sorry when I saw joe fall. I think some people being to hard on them. their songs are great and really mean something to young people. plus the jonas brothers (nick is really hot!!) are really cute. their the only reason miley cyrus concerts are selling out because she can’t make money on her on. miley cyrus is the worst influence on young children I mean have you seen the pictures on youtube. bad influence but im going to stop myself before I get nasty. well anyways the jonas brothers rock and people should leave them alone and start looking at how much of a slut miley cyrus is.

What you need to realize is this review was done based COMPLETELY on their AMA performance. Ashtyn reviewed all of the performances of THAT night. So, who cares if you say they are so good and she should have researched their performances from before. It would have no bearing on this review. This was her impression of their AMA performance and you have to admit it really SUCKED!

I didn’t even notice Joe fell and I don’t think Ash did either (considering we live together I know she would have pointed it out). What we did notice is you could barely make out what they were saying because their instruments really overpowered their voices. It was really unprofessional. If they were ‘new to this’ or ‘just starting out’ as many have said in their posts it was their responsibility to say that they weren’t ready to perform at the AMAs.

It is just like Britney Spears. She was obviously in no condition to perform at the MTV Music Awards last year, but she didn’t think and say ‘hey I’m not ready’. She went out there and made an ass of herself. The same is true with the Jonas Bros. They really messed this performance up BIG TIME! As such, they opened themselves up to criticism. If they can’t handle the heat don’t get on the stage.

As for Ashtyn and myself, I guess if you call us 20-somethings old then she and I are ancient.

Oh and to the person who spoke about Joe writing music with Type I Diabetes - what the heck? Type I Diabetes doesn’t really stop you from doing things or living life. I should know. My dad was Type I diabetic and he had a long life until he died of heart problems a few years ago. I’m in a wheelchair and have seen people in wheelchairs do far more important things then write a song. So, don’t make this a poor Joe ‘he has an illness’ pity him kind of thing. It’s pathetic and those of us with bigger problems than diabetes find it pathetic.

I personally think that the Jonas Brothers are a pretty decent group. Don’t Knock them. They seem like three decent young guys with a good head on their shoulders. What is pathetic is all the other groups that use profanity and degrading lyrics in their songs.
That is what you call pathetic. Just because they are a decent clothed group with clean lyrics and a clean proformance you want to knock them. I think it is funny how people say that there are many young artists that carry themselves in a bad way knowing that young people look up to them, but when a clean yet fun and entertaining group performs before the nation you have the nerve to still find something wrong with them. I think that’s messed up.

In all honesty I could care less what they look like. I was referring to their outfits and demeanor at the awards. Furthermore, if they looked like they did and were entertaining perhaps I would not have been so harsh, if that’s what you think I was being. The problem is they weren’t entertaining. They were a waste of time, unless they were asked to come merely to make the other acts look better, which they certainly did.

Demeanor, what demeanor? I did’nt see them do anything in bad behavior or conduct which is what that word means. I admit that the performance was lacking finesse, but are the degrading insults really necessary? They are decent and respectable young men and don’t deserve it.

I like the jonas brothers and I believe they have talent. If anyone disagrees then thats their own opinion but no one should be criticizing about one another.
