Grammy Awards Performance: Foo Fighters and Ann Marie Calhoun

Foo Fighters GrammyWhat They Sang: “Pretender”

How They Looked: I am not a huge Foo fan, but they looked like your average rock band. Dave was in a button down and jeans. All of em have the shaggy hair going on, unless they didn’t have any hair. Then they just don’t have hair.

Performance Value: A violinist won the prize and got to play on stage with the Foo Fighters. She was joined with a full orchestra. The song was metal-ish in nature with the strong orchestra melodies behind it, which added a nice touch. Despite not liking the Foos very much, I didn’t hate the song. It wasn’t my favorite, but it was better than say, Fergie’s voice or Kanye period (that was Kanye, in general…not Kanye’s period…don’t want any mix up there). The orchestra was by far my favorite part, though the audience was loving the screamo, but not worthy screamo, Foo Fighters performance.

Star Value (1 = Worst, 5= Best): 4 (for the orchestra) 2.5 (for the Foos)

Ashtyn is definitely the casual gamer in the family. A game fan since she owned an Atari, Ashtyn can remember when her brother rigged the television so he wouldn’t lose his Super Mario Bros. game. That is, until the power went out! A fan of all things Mario, Ashtyn is a Nintendo loyalist. She digs playing Mario-style RPG games, watching others play violent shooters (because she sucks at them), and playing casual PC games (like Wedding Dash and Cake Mania). As of now, she is into the Wii and Nintendo DS, though she’s certain the games for PS3 and Xbox 360 are more appealing.
