Grammy Awards Performance: Beyonce and Tina Turner

Tina TurnerWhat They Sang: “A Tribute Song”, “What’s Love Got to do with It”, “Better be Good to Me”, and “Proud Mary”

How They Looked: Tina was in her usual attire. This time she wore mainly silver with a corset top and some tight matching pants. For her age, it is undeniable how good she looks. Beyonce had on some hot pants and a little matching top. She looked good, of course, but I don’t know that I would have picked the colors they put her in. She was more artsy in her performance, but she gave her all as usual. Beyonce’s second dress was looking good. Her hair is shorter than usual, but it makes her look sexy.

Performance Value: Beyonce started things out with a tribute to the woman that have performed on the stage for years before. This was all done to announce Tina Turner, the woman who is said to have it all. Tina is one hell of a performer. You can’t really argue with that statement. She wasn’t my favorite performance, but considering age and talent she set the stage on fire. It’s impressive for her to be doing what she has been doing for a number of years.

“Proud Mary” brought Beyonce on stage for a duet. There was a lot of talent on the stage with the two of them handling the performance. They had some backups, but nobody would have even noticed them with Beyonce and Tina on the stage. The performance had that Vegas feel to it. Beyonce was shaking it like you can imagine Tina was when she was her age. Though to give Tina credit she still has her moves left, too. It really was a great performance. Vocals were on spot and the rendition was new in comparison to what you would expect it to sound like. It just goes to show that Beyonce is set to be the next generation of strong women on stage.

Ashtyn is definitely the casual gamer in the family. A game fan since she owned an Atari, Ashtyn can remember when her brother rigged the television so he wouldn’t lose his Super Mario Bros. game. That is, until the power went out! A fan of all things Mario, Ashtyn is a Nintendo loyalist. She digs playing Mario-style RPG games, watching others play violent shooters (because she sucks at them), and playing casual PC games (like Wedding Dash and Cake Mania). As of now, she is into the Wii and Nintendo DS, though she’s certain the games for PS3 and Xbox 360 are more appealing.
