Fracture takes place in the year 2161. The world has been through several ecological disasters that have altered the landscape of the planet. Society is unable to agree on a new way of life, causing the entire world to be on the verge of war. As a player you are in the front lines of this major conflict. You play the part of Mason Briggs, a demolitions expert that is fighting for the Atlantic Alliance. The Alliance relies on cybernetic enhancements and are rivals to the genetically enhanced Pacifican Army.

As you play Fracture you will experience 22nd Century warfare. Using Terrain Deformation, players will experience a core gameplay mechanic that allows them to reshape the world around them. The futuristic weaponry in the player’s arsenal gives you a host of options as the main character in this game, with every action changing the face of the earth in ways that are new to gaming altogether.

To give you an idea of what you can expect, imagine Briggs throwing a grenade onto the battlefield. This blast has the ability to move the ground upwards, which allows you to move up to spots that were unreachable before. Another option involves ridding yourself of your enemies in the quickest manner possible. When Briggs is surrounded, a vortex grenade will create a tornado of debris and rid you of your enemies in one swoop.

Fracture will be rated T for Teen.

Ashtyn is definitely the casual gamer in the family. A game fan since she owned an Atari, Ashtyn can remember when her brother rigged the television so he wouldn't lose his Super Mario Bros. game. That is, until the power went out! A fan of all things Mario, Ashtyn is a Nintendo loyalist. She digs playing Mario-style RPG games, watching others play violent shooters (because she sucks at them), and playing casual PC games (like Wedding Dash and Cake Mania). As of now, she is into the Wii and Nintendo DS, though she's certain the games for PS3 and Xbox 360 are more appealing.
