Ashtyn is definitely the casual gamer in the family. A game fan since she owned an Atari, Ashtyn can remember when her brother rigged the television so he wouldn’t lose his Super Mario Bros. game. That is, until the power went out! A fan of all things Mario, Ashtyn is a Nintendo loyalist. She digs playing Mario-style RPG games, watching others play violent shooters (because she sucks at them), and playing casual PC games (like Wedding Dash and Cake Mania). As of now, she is into the Wii and Nintendo DS, though she’s certain the games for PS3 and Xbox 360 are more appealing.

Video Game News: I Am Alive Trailer

If this game is half as good as the trailer looks, I cannot wait to check it out, if only for the graphics. Then again, who doesn’t appreciate a good natural disaster? In I Am Alive, against insurmountable odds, one man fights to stay alive in the wake of a cataclysmic natural disaster.

The Good & Bad About the PS3 40GB Phase Out

Filed under: — Playstation 3, Video Game News

Sony recently announced at E3 that they would be phasing out the 40GB bare bones Playstation3 for the more hardcore, 80GB unit. While the 80GB was originally more expensive, the new 80GB systems will be offered at the standard, barebones, $399 price. Sure, it sounds great, but those of you interested in things like backwards compatibility won’t find it with the new 80GB systems and this has been one of the biggest complaints about the cheaper priced system. Well that and the lack of media card slots.

What has been announced by the senior VP of Marketing, Peter Dille, is that this new 80GB $399 PS3 is going to be the only PS3 available in North America. The 40GB and the Metal Gear Solid 4 80GB models will be phased out. These models are no longer being shipped to stores, so once they are purchased, they are history.

It’s also important to note that what you see in the 40GB you will get in the 80. The main difference will be the bigger drive. None of the new Sony PS3s will have backwards compatibility. Sony does not feel this is a necessary feature because of strong sales to the cheaper PS3 system. Of course, this could be that people wanted to enjoy the PS3 and couldn’t afford the more expensive model. Regardless, Dille explained it to GameSpot by saying, “We find that people who care deeply about backwards compatibility usually already have a PS2.”

Gossip Bites 7/15

MadoonaBorn Again Baby Killer Denied Release
The craziest bitch in the Manson family has been denied early release from prison according to TMZ. Susan Atkins, known as one of the most prominent females in the Manson family (famous for cutting out Sharon Tate’s baby and writing Pig on the wall with the blood) has been in prison, along with Charlie and the others for decades. Now, Susan is a born again Christian who has only six months to live due to brain cancer. Susan wants out on the compassionate release program. Funny thing is, the crazy bitch almost made it out.

Looks like the L.A. County DA is the one to thank for her remaining locked up where she belongs. He said, “[Atkins] has failed to demonstrate genuine remorse and lacks insight and understanding of the gravity of her crimes.”

With that in mind, she will be remaining in prison for life, as planned.

Baby News
Paris Hilton is an ignorant, ugly slut that wants to get pregnant because she thinks that will make her popular again. So, while begging her puppy dog boyfriend, Benji, to knock her up, she spends her time wearing outfits that try to fool us into thinking that she might be pregnant. Seriously, like no one would know if the end of the world were approaching? Someone needs to do the world a favor and laser her uterus out while she’s trying to get her groove on in Vegas.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are reportedly turning down deals for pictures of their first born, Sunday Rose Urban Kidman. It has not yet been released whether or not they will offer pictures, but it is being rumored that if they do, they might be given out for free. What a novel idea, considering bidding is as high as $3 million for Matthew McConaughey’s new son Levi and as high as $20 million for Brad and Angie’s twins, Knox and Vivienne.

Video Game News: Resistance 2 Game Trailer

Resistance 2 appears to be the game that seriously makes me want to play the PS3 more often. The graphics for this trailer are simply stunning and the game play options seem pretty spiffy, too. Unlike the first game, which takes place in London, part 2 takes you through Chicago, along with other locations, based on level.

Video Game News: God of War 3 Teaser Trailer

Coming up for the PS3 is the dazzling graphic masterpiece, God of War 3. This teaser trailer doesn’t show much at a mere 56 seconds, but it gives you an idea of what to expect, at least partially. Either way, it’s worth checking out if you’re a fan of the series or want to see what’s coming to the PS3.

Video Game News: Mario Super Slugger Trailer Wii

Filed under: — Game Trailers, Video Game News, Wii

Here is the trailer for the new Mario Super Slugger for Nintendo Wii. While this isn’t going to suit all Nintendo fans, it does have the family friendly appeal to it that signifies Nintendo in a nutshell. I am sure the kiddies will love this one, especially the ones that like to play baseball on television instead of doing it outside like we used to do.
