Ubisoft Steps Up after Break-In in Flint, MI

On one of our other websites, Ashtyn wrote a blog post concerning one of my peers at the University of Michigan-Flint. Her house, the house she shares with her fiance, had been broken into. They had stolen their laptop, video game systems, and games. While these items are not necessities, they were important to Kate and Carl. They spent their hard earned money on these items, and in an instant lost them to the greed of someone who invaded their private space.

I asked Ashtyn what could we, as bloggers, do to help Kate and Carl. So, we set out to connect with the companies we work with on a regular basis, to see if they could help us help Kate and Carl. AND one company responded.

We’ve enjoyed working with Ubisoft, reviewing their titles, posting their videos, and sharing gaming news from them for over a year. When Ubisoft heard about Kate and Carl’s situation, they responded by sending a box of video games. These games would not replace what was lost, but would help them to rebuild their game arsenal. I was so happy that Ubisoft responded, and Kate and Carl were thrilled, as well.

Here is a video Kate made thanking Ubi for helping them out after the break in and showing off all the cool games Ubisoft sent.

THANK YOU UBISOFT. YOUR COMMITMENT TO GAMERS IS EVER SO APPARENT. I AM PROUD TO HAVE SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO WORK WITH YOUR COMPANY.

Dominick is in his late 20s. Having been born in the 80s gave him a unique advantage to experience the development of gaming into the massive industry it has become today. From the days of Atari to the purchase of his very first NES (before his 10th birthday), Dominick has been involved in gaming. Initially, a huge fan of Nintendo, he's delved more into the exciting world of Xbox 360, and everything Microsoft in recent years. His favorite games are Action/Adventure, Shooters (especially WWII or Historical based games) and racing games. Of course, some days he enjoys playing an old fashioned game featuring his original gaming heroes, Mario and Zelda. In a wheelchair since age 16, Dominick has the unique perspective of gaming with limited mobility. When not gaming, he is a human rights activist, a creative mind, and he enjoys spending time with his family.
