I don’t know about you, but as a HUGE fan of the FPS titles, I am pretty stoked about checking out the Demo for Bulletstorm. The game is set for release in February 2011, and will be available for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. This is the latest offering from the bunch that brought us Gears of War and Unreal.

The demo for Bulletstorm will be available to players of Xbox 360 and PS3 on January 25, 2011. The game has been described by other outlets as:

Entertainment Weekly: “…an intense, outrageous shooter…”

New York Times (Seth Schiesel): “…the name should say it all; big guns, lots of lead and over-the-top mayhem.”

Bulletstorm will offer three different modes of gameplay. These include:

-single-player pulp sci-fi campaign
-multiplayer Anarchy mode
-Echo mode

Echo mode is going to be a part of the Demo, and the game will track and compare scores between players as they play through the Echo mode campaign.

EA sent out a Press Release recently, stating that, “The Bulletstorm demo introduces a slice of Echo mode in which players traverse a collapsed building on the deadly paradise planet Stygia as ex-Dead Echo leader Grayson Hunt. Players will utilize the “Skillshot” system in Bulletstorm as they crush enemies in increasingly creative ways to rack up points using an arsenal of powerful weapons, from a futuristic assault rifle called the Peace Maker Carbine, to the Flail Gun, which fires two grenades linked by a chain, and the Screamer, a powerful revolver that turns enemies into human fireworks.

From highest score to total number of skillshots performed, players can compete with their friends for bragging rights in Echo mode as they decimate enemies with over-the-top combat moves using some of the most innovative weapons ever seen in a first-person shooter. With more than 45 skillshots in the demo, players are encouraged to “Kill with Skill” in Bulletstorm, finding stylish and ever imaginative ways to take down anyone that stands in their way. The Bulletstorm demo also allows players to unlock platform-specific upgrades* to use in the game’s Anarchy mode, from the Crimson Leash to Stealth Armor, when they purchase the full game.”

So, don’t forget kids. January 25, 2011 is the day to make sure you download your demo copy of Bulletstorm from the PSN or Xbox Live. This is just for North America residents. Those from Europe will have access to the demo on January 26, 2011 through the PSN.

Oh, and when you purchase the Xbox 360 version of Bulletstorm, you will receive early access to the Gears of War 3 beta as well as additional in game bonus content (where available). The PC version will also offer additional in game bonus content (where available) and the Bulletstorm Limited Edition will be available for the PS3.

You can pre-order Bulletstorm at places like Gamestop and Amazon. It will be released February 22, 2011 in North America and February 25, 2011 in Europe. So, get ready for the storm that is about to be unleashed when EA brings us Bulletstorm!
