Ubisoft has announced plans for a brand new dance game designed specifically for PS3 and the Playstation Move. The game, Dance on Broadway features dance numbers to some of Broadway’s hottest musical numbers. The list of songs includes:

-“Time Warp” (Rocky Horror Show)
-“You Can’t Stop the Beat” (Hairspray)
-“Fame” (Fame – The Musical)
-“Ease on Down the Road” (The Wiz)
-“There’s No Business Like Show Business” (Annie Get your Gun)
-“Out Tonight” (RENT)
-“Little Shop of Horrors Theme” (Little Shop of Horrors)
-“Let the Sunshine In” (Hair)

Here is the trailer that Ubisoft has released for the game:

As a huge fan of Broadway, I am actually pretty excited about this release. I have been wondering why games like SingStar and Lips have not capitalized on the successful Broadway integration into the mainstream, thanks to shows like Glee. Apparently, they were holding out for the dancing and wanted to give Broadway its own unique release. This game is already available for Wii, though this Playstation Move version will not be released until March 17, 2011.

The cool thing about this is that it offers the chance to both dance and sing. There are 25 different songs. We can only hope that DLC will become available with new songs to enhance gameplay somewhere down the line. Players have the chance to dance solo or with family and friends, in groups of two. Players can dance with one or two Playstation Move controllers, depending on their level of skill. Quickplay is available through Party Mode and there is a Broadway Challenge mode where you perform to help save the Little Triumph Theatre from ruin in Become a Star mode!.

Dance on Broadway will be available in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America this March!
