The 10 Biggest Events on My Weekend Comic Con List

Filed under: — Movie News, TV News, Video Game News

So, this time for Saturday and Sunday I am limiting myself to just ten things to talk about. Now if I was going, I am sure I would have a much longer list. I should mention though that I cut out a few things that I would have loved to see if there were scheduling difficulties with other panels or screenings. This list should do for now, though if you want to check out the entire schedule you can view Saturday’s or Sunday’s events list at the Comic Con site.

Saturday

12:00-1:00 Lost— Fans of the show will not want to miss this panel. Co-creator/executive producer Damon Lindelof and executive producer Carlton Cuse will discuss season 4 of Lost, leading up to the season finale. They will answer your questions and maybe even offer up some surprises of their own. Hall H

1:15-2:00 Warner Bros.: Terminator Salvation— Check out the newest installment of The Terminator film franchise. Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, Christian Bale stars as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. - Hall H

4:30-5:30 Marvel: Secret Invasion— Get your first look at what’s in store and what’s to come in the Marvel U when the dust settles. Guests include Joe Quesada, Greg Pak, Chris Gage, Chris Yost, Daniel Way, and others. Room 6A

5:30-7:00 Sony: Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, Quarantine, Pineapple Express

Underworld : Rise of the Lycans
The third film in the popular Underworld franchise delves into the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires, known as Death Dealers, and the barbaric Lycans (werewolves). A young Lycan, Lucian (Michael Sheen), emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor (Bill Nighy), the cruel vampire king who has persecuted them for hundreds of years. Lucian is joined by his secret lover, the beautiful vampire Sonja (Rhona Mitra), in his battle to free the Lycans from their brutal enslavement. On stage to take your questions will be Rhona Mitra, Bill Nighy, Michael Sheen and director Patrick Tatopoulos. Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is in theaters everywhere January 23, 2009.

Quarantine
Television reporter Angela Vidal (Jennifer Carpenter) and her cameraman (Steve Harris) are assigned to spend the night shift with a Los Angeles fire station. After a routine 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they find police officers already on the scene in response to blood-curdling screams and soon learn that a woman living there has been infected by something unknown. After a few of the residents are viciously attacked, they try to escape only to find that the CDC has quarantined the building. Phones, Internet, television and cell phone access have been cut off, and officials are not relaying information to those locked inside. When the quarantine is finally lifted, the only evidence of what took place is the news crew’s videotape. Quarantine opens in theaters everywhere October 17.

Ashtyn is definitely the casual gamer in the family. A game fan since she owned an Atari, Ashtyn can remember when her brother rigged the television so he wouldn’t lose his Super Mario Bros. game. That is, until the power went out! A fan of all things Mario, Ashtyn is a Nintendo loyalist. She digs playing Mario-style RPG games, watching others play violent shooters (because she sucks at them), and playing casual PC games (like Wedding Dash and Cake Mania). As of now, she is into the Wii and Nintendo DS, though she’s certain the games for PS3 and Xbox 360 are more appealing.

The Bravo Awards - The Gay, The Fat & The Weird

This year’s Bravo Awards were hosted by Kathy Griffin. The less than liked comedian did at least one, semi-humorous skit and had plenty to say during her stint. Here are some of the most, off-the-wall shots from the festivities.

Tila Tequila

And the Award goes to Sluttiest Bitch on TV!
I didn’t watch the awards, but yeah this looks like Tila won some award. I’m not sure of the purpose of the Bravo awards, but I always thought they were given to the winner of the best shows on Bravo. Either way, I can only imagine what this hooch won! Hooker of the year maybe?

The MTV Movie Awards - Downright Weird

Okay, so I gave you pictures of the best and worst of the awards, but then I found pictures feature things happening that are just downright weird. For your entertainment, I give you the weirdness (or is it weirdest?) of the MTV Movie Awards:

Dana Carvey

Dana Carvey is pregnant?!
Seriously, look at that baby bump! It’s bigger than the one on Nicole Kidman! I don’t mean to brag, but I think I’m going to be the first to report on the “expecting” Daddy! Good luck with the delivery Dana. We hear birth can be rather painful!

The Best and Worst of the MTV Movie Awards

Am I the only person that had no clue this was going to be on last night? Not that it particularly matters because I probably would have continued watching Ninja Warrior and left this post the way it is going to be. I have a sick fascination with that show, but that’s for another post. This is all about those who turned up last night for the awards. Here are some of the highlights.

Anna Faris and Gang

One out of four, is better than none
Well we all know that Rumer is fugly, I can’t get over the Demi hair with the Bruce body, and it’s just too creepy for me. The girl next to her is having some fashion issues with that print dress and then there is Katherine McPhee. Is it just me or does she have this, “I am totally a star” look on her face? Anyway, at least Anna looks cute, for the most part.

Simpson-Wentz Reality Television Newlywed Style

Filed under: — Music News, Musicians, Reality Stars

Ashlee and PeteApparently Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has not learned anything from her sister. Well, either that or she realized she wasn’t going to make a living for much longer selling music with her vocal issues. To ensure a bright and successful life, the Simpson-Wentz clan are shopping around the idea of a Newlywed show in the same vein as the show that Jessica did with Nick prior to becoming a divorced, drunken slut with a penchant for football players.

I’ve heard of following in your sister’s footsteps, but isn’t this a little ridiculous?! Ashlee will, of course, be playing the Jessica role. This means she will be the moron and Pete gets to roll his eyes, laugh, and profess his love to a wife with the IQ of 12. While the couple has yet to find a network, they are shopping around, and even have footage they can offer as samples!

According to sources for OK Magazine:

“One scene is at a dinner and everyone is toasting to business ventures and important things like that. When it came to Ashlee, she toasts to jewelry, and Pete just shook his head.”

Got Crack? So Does Amy!

Filed under: — Drunk Sluts, Music News

Amy Hearts BlakeAmy Winehouse is back at it. Of course, this time it’s not so much about her doing it (at least not where we can see). This time Alex Haines, the guy hired to keep her on the straight and narrow, was seen and arrested for smoking crack. What exactly was he supposed to keep her off of? Horse Tranquilizers?

Whatever it was didn’t work because after the security camera told all, Wino’s label fired him faster than she could dump some LSD into her McDonald’s Chocolate Shake.

The NY Daily News Reports:

Haines was originally brought into the fold to keep Winehouse, who has a history of problems with drugs and alcohol, on the straight and narrow. The singer’s mom raved about Haines last month, telling the U.K.’s Daily Mail that he’s “a lovely boy” who was a good influence on her daughter. Whoops.

I’m Sorry Jonas Brothers

Filed under: — Music News, Musicians, Ugly Clothes

Joe JonasA while back I wrote an article about how truly, disgustingly awful the Jonas Brothers sounded on the AMA Awards. I had never heard them sing and despite them sounding like complete crap, there were some fans that got very upset that I called them metrosexuals and cut them down when they are really nice and upstanding young men.

Of course, one of these upstanding young men dated Miley Cyrus who is becoming not as upstanding or nice as she used to be, but that’s for another day. This is something different it’s about the Jonas Brothers.

Again, I saw them perform live. This time they were on the American Idol stage. After I cleaned up my urine (I have a bad bladder when I laugh hysterically at something) I realized that maybe I wasn’t being fair. I tried to listen to them again. I say tried because I couldn’t stop giggling. Sure, I’ve heard worse. I’ve heard Chloe Latanzzi sing and in all fairness you can’t get any worse than that. However, they are a close second.

Clay Aiken and Pregnancy

Filed under: — Music News, Reality Stars

Clay AikenI know, I know these are two things you never thought you’d hear together. It’s kind of like hearing peanut butter and sperm. They just don’t go together. Well, at least I think they don’t.

Nonetheless, it’s the talk of the town that Clay Aiken actually impregnated someone. Before I go on, let me just say, I hope they don’t use that turkey baster this Thanksgiving!

According to TMZ, Clay who is 29 has impregnated Jaymes Foster who is 50. Foster is a record producer who lives with Aiken in his LA home. From what is going around it happened through artificial insemination and Clay will help by actively raising his future son or daughter.

Foster is divorced and this will be her first child. She is due in August. This will also be Aiken’s first child. He has never been married, because, well, that just became legal in California.
