Ryan introduced the final eight ladies tonight and with a nod to the judges he would be about ready to start the show. It’s the top 16 this week, which means tonight is the top 8 women and the last week before things become co-ed. When he introduced the judges it appeared that everyone was ready to get things moving.
Randy was pimpin’ in a v-neck and a white t-shirt. He said the guys were hot so the girls better bring it. Paula looked like her usual, drunk self in a designer shirt, with a funky weave bun. Paula said she hopes the girls pick the right song. The hair of the 80s was cool. Simon looked like his normal self in a black t-shirt. He said no one is safe.
Like last night for the guys, tonight’s theme was 80s music. Each contestant had to tell about their most embarrassing moment.
Up first was Asia’h Epperson. Her embarrassing story involved her being an extra on a movie. Basically, she had to roller skate, and she hadn’t in a long time. So, she ran into the set light and fell on her butt. They had to break because she messed up the light.
What she sang: “I Wanna Dance with Somebody”
What she wore: A pink tank top (silk) and some purple pants - her hair looks cute and she had jewelry on
How she sounded: She isn’t Whitney. She has a nice voice, but the song is too big for her. Still, she wasn’t horrible. She can sing. It’s hard to compare to Whitney, especially when doing the song just like Whitney did. Overall, not as bad as the start to last night.

Ashtyn is definitely the casual gamer in the family. A game fan since she owned an Atari, Ashtyn can remember when her brother rigged the television so he wouldn’t lose his Super Mario Bros. game. That is, until the power went out! A fan of all things Mario, Ashtyn is a Nintendo loyalist. She digs playing Mario-style RPG games, watching others play violent shooters (because she sucks at them), and playing casual PC games (like Wedding Dash and Cake Mania). As of now, she is into the Wii and Nintendo DS, though she’s certain the games for PS3 and Xbox 360 are more appealing.

No Country for Old Men
Our Thoughts on the Winner
It’s hard to beat the Coen brothers. Out of the three awards they have won, two were won this evening. They already said their piece in the first award, so this time it was left to a simple thank you from Ethan.

The Nominees
Once “Falling Slowly”
Enchanted “Happy Working Song”
August Rush “Raise It Up”
Enchanted “So Close”
Enchanted “That’s How You Know”
Our Prediction
August Rush “Raise It Up”
Ultimate Upset
Enchanted “That’s How You Know”
And the winner is…
Once “Falling Slowly”
Our Thoughts on the Winner
This was one of the most unexpected wins of the night, in my opinion. The live performance was definitely one of the weakest, but the Academy felt that props should go to Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova for the song “Falling Slowly” from their movie, Once.

The results show wasn’t too exciting tonight. Like most people, I really only watch to see who would get kicked off. After what seemed like a year of watching the recaps for the guy performances and listening to stupid comments by Paula about colors, we finally got down to some results.
Garrett was the first to be going home. When they announced it Danny was shown looking in the camera with absolute fear. I don’t know what he’s worried about though. Being that he is Vote for the Worst’s poster boy, he should be fine. Garrett sang the song he sang from the other day. He’s not horrible he’s just not as good or as memorable as some of the others at this stage.
After a break, they decided to send one of the girls home. They showed the performances of the ladies just like they did with the men before. After this they will be sending home another male and female from the bunch. This time around Kristy was called up though it was a distraction. Vote for the Worst’s female favorite, Amy Davis was the first to be voted off. Looks like the guys over there will have to hook up with a new female for the masses to vote for next week.

Tonight the top 12 women of American Idol’s Top 24 were performing for the first time on the AI stage. After showing a brief “reminder” of how it all went down (aka how they made it to the Top 24), it was time for the women to hit the stage. This is a recap of what they sang, how they looked, and how they did. Predictions of who should be (and will be) cut are included.
Ryan started the show off by rambling about how bad this cold and flu season is and how some of the girls are actually sick, but planning to try and do their best.
The Judges: Randy was his normal self in a trendy bling-wear sweater ensemble. Paula wore an outfit that was black and white. It was fairly plain for her, but, as usual, Paula looked high, so it’s all good. Her advice for the show…brings the vocals. I can’t help but wonder if she thinks this is the chicken rodeo again. What else are they supposed to bring?! Meanwhile, Simon looked like always and mentioned that he loved when the crappy singers spar with him over his opinion.
According to Ryan, tonight’s songs, just like the night before, are all from the 60s.
Up first is Kristy Lee Cook. Kristy sold her horse to try out for AI. She is known for “Amazing Grace”, but not much else at this point. Tonight we will find out if she’s capable of more or will be leaving quickly.
What she wore: Gold tank top and jeans with some fashion rips and a belt. Her hair looked nice, but it wasn’t singing, so she doesn’t really get points for that.
What she sang: “Rescue Me”

You’ve heard of sleepwalking…well now there is peewalking. This is similar to sleepwalking except you multi-task. You have that dream of a rushing river so you get up, but in this case you’re still sound asleep. You begin to walk to the bathroom…or in this case….whatever you want to pee. Then you drop your pants and let the stream fly.
Well….it’s almost like this. Just ask Dee Snyder, the frontman of Twisted Sister. Snyder is a part of a Reality show, Gone Country. Bobby Brown, aka, PeePee Brown, is also on the same show. The winner gets to test the waters in the country music genre. Unfortunately, for Snyder, part of the show involved almost getting peed on by Bobby.

Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton are fighting in public again. Naturally with a failing…well….life, I suppose, it makes sense that you need the blatant exposure with the paparazzi, any way that you can get it. This little tiff occurred at Timbaland’s pre-Grammy celebration. Apparently the junky didn’t know that the trashy ADD ho was going to be there.
As you can expect, when the girls found out the other was there words were exchanged. The event went something like this.
Lindsay: “What the hell is that bitch doing here? I didn’t know she was on the list.”
Paris: “Fuck off you bitch.”
The reason that the two peas in a pod are fighting like two cracked out pigs in a blanket is because of Timbaland. No, they don’t want to do him…well at least I don’t think so. What they want is to work with him. Both bitches assume that he can revitalize their career. The sad thing is that neither of them realizes that you have to have talent for him to make you better.
A source said that both girls want Timbaland to fix their music careers, but neither expected the other to be there. “Both saw the party as an ideal way of getting him on side - but they didn’t count on the other being there.”

I can already see Kanye plotting and writing out his hit list. At the top of the list are three men, who all seem to potentially be new enemies of Kanye. First, there’s Vince Gill. Vince just happened to win Best Country Album. The award, which was presented by Ringo Starr, was a big honor for Gill. He just had to get in a jab at Kanye, who is known for his prissy behavior and whiny tantrums at award shows.
After going on stage, Gill looked at Ringo, then at Kanye. With a grin on his face and a joyous sound in his voice, Vince spoke directly to Kanye as he said, “I just had an award given to me by a Beatle. Have you had that happen yet, Kanye?”
As the audience burst into laughter, and Gill chuckled with Ringo on-stage, a tight-lipped Kanye knew the camera was bound to be on him as he tried to force out a smile. That was the first dig at Kanye and a sign that the stars of the music world aren’t going to continue to put up with Kanye’s crap.

What They Sang: A mix of classic songs
How They Looked: Only Will.i.am could pull off a classic black suit with black sequins lining it and a white button down beneath it. His outfit was complimented by his black hat. Save for the funky hat, he looked cool, but that’s about where the coolness factor ended for this performance.
Performance Value: Seriously….they could have picked someone who could actually…sing…to sing “Mack the Knife” and “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” amongst other songs. The whole performance was just bizarre in my opinion. It was short, which was good, and pretty much pointless.
Star Value (1 = Worst, 5= Best): 1

What They Sang: A medley mix including “Good Golly, Miss Molly” and “Goodness Gracious, Great Balls of Fire”
How They Looked: John Fogerty looked classic in all black, though his bright red guitar really stood out against his suit. Little Richard was quite festive in his white, sequined suit, and as Ashtyn put it, “Jerry Lee Lewis was just adorable in his classic suit.”
Considering both Ash and her mother had thought the legendary singer had passed on, he looked quite good! It was great to see these legends and their unique styles meshing together on stage at the music celebration of the year.
Performance Value: For their age, these guys still know how to rock it! They sounded great. Jerry Lee was still able to hit all those crazy notes in his classic hit “Great Balls of Fire”. Little Richard was slammin’ as he sat at his piano. He really got the audience going. As for John Fogerty, he looked the most like the old John Fogerty we all know and love. The dude was rockin! It was a great performance all the way around.
