Tonight the top 12 women of American Idol’s Top 24 were performing for the first time on the AI stage. After showing a brief “reminder” of how it all went down (aka how they made it to the Top 24), it was time for the women to hit the stage. This is a recap of what they sang, how they looked, and how they did. Predictions of who should be (and will be) cut are included.
Ryan started the show off by rambling about how bad this cold and flu season is and how some of the girls are actually sick, but planning to try and do their best.
The Judges: Randy was his normal self in a trendy bling-wear sweater ensemble. Paula wore an outfit that was black and white. It was fairly plain for her, but, as usual, Paula looked high, so it’s all good. Her advice for the show…brings the vocals. I can’t help but wonder if she thinks this is the chicken rodeo again. What else are they supposed to bring?! Meanwhile, Simon looked like always and mentioned that he loved when the crappy singers spar with him over his opinion.
According to Ryan, tonight’s songs, just like the night before, are all from the 60s.
Up first is Kristy Lee Cook. Kristy sold her horse to try out for AI. She is known for “Amazing Grace”, but not much else at this point. Tonight we will find out if she’s capable of more or will be leaving quickly.
What she wore: Gold tank top and jeans with some fashion rips and a belt. Her hair looked nice, but it wasn’t singing, so she doesn’t really get points for that.
What she sang: “Rescue Me”

Ashtyn is definitely the casual gamer in the family. A game fan since she owned an Atari, Ashtyn can remember when her brother rigged the television so he wouldn’t lose his Super Mario Bros. game. That is, until the power went out! A fan of all things Mario, Ashtyn is a Nintendo loyalist. She digs playing Mario-style RPG games, watching others play violent shooters (because she sucks at them), and playing casual PC games (like Wedding Dash and Cake Mania). As of now, she is into the Wii and Nintendo DS, though she’s certain the games for PS3 and Xbox 360 are more appealing.

Tonight on Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann the cast list for the new season of Dancing with the Stars was revealed. While I don’t normally watch DW, we wanted to make sure readers of Hotarazzi got the list tonight! So, I endured two, long hours of excruciating, Dance War pop singing and boy band type dancing to make sure you got the following list.
You might remember last season offered performances by names such as Jennie Garth, Wayne Newton, Marie Osmond, and Mark Cuban amongst others. I watched some of last season, which was the fifth season of the show.
As I watched the show, I must admit that I chuckled at the falls and pathetic dance moves. I also sat by stunned, as the dancers that did the most amazing job (hint, hint.. Sabrina) were bounced while others that didn’t deserve to hang out ended up staying until the end.

You’ve heard of sleepwalking…well now there is peewalking. This is similar to sleepwalking except you multi-task. You have that dream of a rushing river so you get up, but in this case you’re still sound asleep. You begin to walk to the bathroom…or in this case….whatever you want to pee. Then you drop your pants and let the stream fly.
Well….it’s almost like this. Just ask Dee Snyder, the frontman of Twisted Sister. Snyder is a part of a Reality show, Gone Country. Bobby Brown, aka, PeePee Brown, is also on the same show. The winner gets to test the waters in the country music genre. Unfortunately, for Snyder, part of the show involved almost getting peed on by Bobby.

RAP/HIP-HOP
Favorite Band, Duo or Group:
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony
Pretty Ricky
Shop Boyz
Winner: Bone Thugs-N-Harmony
They thanked God and their music family. The fans got some praise, too. Bone Thugs N Harmony is the only group here that I am overly familiar with. I am glad they won, because I really like their new song…even if I didn’t know they were the ones singing it.

Favorite Male Artist:
Akon
Timbaland
Justin Timberlake
Winner: Justin Timberlake
I was typing this out before they said his name. He is the hottest thing in music these days. He was touring so they had him on over the satellite. He was in scrubs, but he looked good. He cracked a joke, made his thanks quick, and then Kid Rock came out to beat up Jimmy Kimmel (I guess you had to be there.)
Favorite Female Artist:
Beyonce
Fergie
Avril Lavigne
Winner: Fergie

Soul & R&B Winners for the AMAs:
SOUL/RHYTHM & BLUES
Favorite Male Artist:
Akon
Ne-Yo
T-Pain
Winner: Akon
I was stuck with this category. I like Akon and Ne-Yo a lot, and T-Pain isn’t so bad either. It was awesome to see Akon win. This was his first AMA win. He looked pretty good. He was wearing a coat that went to his knees and a basic white shirt underneath. Akon offered the award to T-Pain on stage and they had a little laugh on stage about Akon’s offer to give it to him. T said he would take it, because Akon doesn’t have room for any more awards on his television. Don’t you hate when you run out of room in that spot? I know I do.
Favorite Female Artist:
Beyonce
Fantasia
Rihanna

What She Sang: A Reggae Mix (I missed the name of the song she sang -corrected thanks to help from a commenter) featuring her new song, “No One”
What She Wore: Alicia was looking hot, as usual. She was at her piano. She had a bluish-grey pantsuit on and she looked great with her hair down.
Performance Value: Alicia is one of the best performers today. Her voice is phenomenal. She seems so at home up on stage, though she gave off a slight tremble that I noticed near the beginning. She had some help with Junior Reid and Chaka Demus. As you might expect, I think that this one is going to be the performance of the night. Not a big surprise with Alicia. When the guys were singing she was getting funky with the dancers to the hot reggae beats.

What He Sang: I’ll Be Waiting
What She Wore: A leather jacket, sun glasses, and traditional black jeans or pants.
Performance Value: Lenny was at the piano. I love it when they play and sing. It doesn’t even matter who, pianos are just plain sexy. He had a full band behind him. I had never heard the song. I don’t listen to enough Lenny apparently. The song wasn’t bad. It was slow/mid-paced song and it might have just convinced me to go buy the CD. Lenny got into the song and was belting out some lyrics. It was an amazing performance for Lenny and one of the best so far tonight.

What She Sang: Taking Chances
What She Wore: A simple white dress with jeweled top and plenty of fringes. Her hair was down and simple. She looked good, especially when you take her age into account (not that she’s that old, but she’s not young either.)
Performance Value: Celine has been in Vegas for a few years and now she’s off on a World Tour in the New Year. The song is not one I would have expected her to sing. It had a bit of a rock-ish edge to it and she just doesn’t strike me that way. I guess that’s what Taking Chances is all about. I am not sure I loved it, but like her or not, she is the top selling female artist in the world for a reason. She did this sexy dance thing towards the end, and her porn face made me giggle. That’s all I am saying.

What She Sang: Umbrella & a Duet with Ne-Yo (Hate that I love You So)
What She Wore: A flapper girl (ish – or maybe it looked like an Indian Pricess?) tight and flowing dress. She looked the best out of all female singers to date that hit the stage. Her makeup was done to perfection, which helped her stand out from the rest.
Performance Value: Taye Diggs announced Rihanna and let me just say…meow. He had that classic Hollywood look going on with glasses. Oh, wait. This is about Rihanna isn’t it? Let’s see she was dressed like a flapper girl with makeup. She sounded fabulous. She had an orchestra behind her. The new song is hot, though I had never heard the name of it prior to this. I will definitely be checking it out. Her microphone had some brass knuckle style bling going on, which was also hot. Ne-Yo sounded amazing; they made an awesome team on this collaboration. I had heard him before, but I don’t think I ever really heard him, if you know what I mean. Wow. This performance was just amazing.
